This is the recording of quite a large storm that reached us here in East Hungary towards the end of June 2023. We had an amber warning and there was the possibility of large hailstones which didn't want to perform on this occasion.

The recording is done from the inside near a window with an additional contact mic weighted down on the window frame. The results are interesting as the stereo capsule of the Zoom H6 recorder has picked up quite a relaxing ambient version of the storm. It sounds rather distant whereas the contact mic has picked up more details in the vibrations. The contact mic version is more violent, and scary. It reminds me, in places, of an old horror film.
