In Contact with Trees Vol 1. are recordings of some trees in my garden captured in relatively strong gusts of wind. The creaking of their branches can be heard as well as external sounds caught vibrating through them. We are hearing the environment through them. Of course it's muffled!

Connecting with trees is something many people believe in. Most of the time we walk past trees without giving them much thought. Their beauty is obvious in the forest, and it feels easier to connect with them there, in their environment. But, we can develop bonds with trees anywhere and everywhere. It can be upsetting to realise this once they have gone. The old tree at the top of the road that we used to play in when we were young that was chopped down to make way for new apartments etc etc
