These are recordings in mono with a lapel mic, captured on separate occasions. I travelled by tram and walked through the city. It was a wet day. Traffic can be heard on the road as well as rain dripping from the buildings around where I stopped to record. People were in a hurry to avoid getting wet. 
I visited the market, and went shopping by car. I also visited a popular pub. I love the sound of walking into the bar. You almost feel the welcome of a cosy place to be, and meet friends.

These mono recordings have a certain quality. They remind me of watching something on an old TV where there was no stereo placement (just one forward facing speaker, remember?). Everything is straight down the middle. It is simple and unconfused, without the distraction of so much movement. Sometimes this might be exaclty what you want or need!
The lapel microphone picks up the electric interference in certain places around the city. Though this is not ideal, it highlights the level of radio noise pollution around us that we can't normally hear.
